ISO/IEC 15288:2002 Systems engineering – System life cycle processes
ISO.IEC 15288 provides an architecture of the life cycle of a system from “cradle to grave”. The system can contain any one of more of these components: people, hardware, software, processes, procedures, facilities, and natural entities (such as other organisms, water, energy).
The architecture specifies all the processes and their purposes that should be followed to ensure the construction of quality systems: doing so enables the system to be engineered with the discipline that ensures the process outcomes are expected and meet requirements.
